An annual trip to the coast for our Life Members. This is a very popular event that has been running for many years. 

​​​​​

A list will be put up in the Club for you to add your names to reserve your seats. There will be 2 buses going meaning about 100 people in total. When the buses are full the lists will be taken down. You must be a life member (i.e. red card holder).  

​​​​

For information, red card holders are 65 or over and must have been a fully paid member for 5 consecutive years previous to that.

Members will need to obtain their tickets from one of the kid's Committee in person. Entry is free, but you must have a ticket for each person attending (including the kids) and only paid up members of the club can get tickets. To ensure fairness, a maximum limit of 6 tickets per member will be in place.?

An annual "Trumpets and Tinsel" Brass Band Concert. This is a very popular event which features a full brass band and conductor. The event is held in the Concert Room.

​Hosted by Malcolm Lord, this event includes a 3 course meal followed by cheese n biscuits. 

The guest speaker is ex Newcastle forward, Micky Quinn with comedian John Gillan providing the laughs.

​The Senior Citizen's Tea will take place on Weds 3rd October 2018. The tea is an event organised for our red card (life) members only, but the evening entertainment is open to all members. On the evening there will be 2 live music acts.  ​

This event is free to our life members but you must obtain a ticket beforehand from the committee. A poster will go up in the Club a few weeks before the tea with more details. You must be a life member (red card holder) to attend the tea. For information, red card holders are 65 or over and have had at least 5 years prior continuous membership to qualify.

Saturday - buses leave at 9am

In aid of Liver Research

A fun night of darts in aid of Liver Research organised in memory of much loved Alma Wallace, a champion darts player and big character in the Club.

Just £3 to enter, best of 3 games of 501, randomly drawn mixed doubles - all money to be returned in prizes. Raffles and Cards will be run throughout the Club on the night to raise money for the Charity.

Join in or just come along for a good laugh in the name of a great cause. See committee Derek Wallace or Tess Birkett for more information or ask at the bar.

​Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker will both put their heavyweight world title belts on the line in the first major boxing bout of 2018.

​

Parker, 26,  is putting his WBO belt on the line while Joshua, 28,  is defending his WBA and IBF titles in a winner-takes-all fight at Cardiff's Principality Stadium, where Joshua successfully defended his titles against Carlos Takam.

There are 2 general meetings per year. The first one is held in February and is the Annual General Meeting (AGM). The half year meeting is usually held in August.

At both meetings, the members gather to review the previous 6 months audited accounts, a copy of which is provided to each member. The auditors statement is read to the meeting and voting may take place on any new rules or rule changes. The meeting also appoints scrutineers for the forthcoming election of committee members. ​
 

Please note we can not approve new members for up to 6 weeks before these meetings. You can still make an application but will not be dealt with until after the meeting. NB: you must renew your membership BEFORE attending the meeting otherwise you will not be allowed to enter. It's the rules folks!

The Christmas Pantomime is The Sun Princess. A singing and dancing spectacular for all the family. A 2 hour performance plus an interval. Meet and greet the characters at the end of the show.

The Kingdom of Sunnydale welcomes you!!! The happiest place in the world. Follow Amber as she becomes the Sun Princess. Magical and wonderful things happen BUT watch out for the Prince of Darkness and all his creatures. A truly epic journey begins.

This is a ticket only event for members of the club and their kids. Tickets are now available with effect from Sat 18th Nov from the Committee.

Members will need to obtain their tickets from a member of the kid's Committee in person. Entry is free, but you must have a ticket for each person attending (including the kids) and only paid up members of the club can get tickets. Finally, to ensure fairness, there is a a maximum limit of 6 tickets per member.

World Heavywight Championship

• Anthony Joshua will defend his IBF and WBA heavyweight world titles against Carlos Takam after Kubrat Pulev withdrew through injury.

• Joshua is unbeaten in his 19 professional fights and came of age earlier this year when he was given the stiffest test of his career when he was floored by Wladimir Klitschko. But the Brit got up off the canvas to knock the legendary Ukrainian out in the 11th round to claim the WBA belt and the biggest win of his career.​

• He had been due to face Kubrat Pulev, the Bulgarian whose only career defeat came against Klitschko. However, he pulled out with less than two weeks before the fight with an apparent shoulder injury, forcing promoter Eddie Hearn to call up his second-choice IBF mandatory challenger Carlos Takam.

The annual trip to the coast for the kids, otherwise known as the kiddies outing, is planned for Saturday 12th August. It's a great day out for club members and their families.

Tickets will be on sale from Sun 16th July from the committee in the Lounge between 12 and 1 pm. Demand is expected to be high so please get yours early to avoid disappointment. Only members can purchase tickets. Cost is £8 per adult, member's kids go free, non-members kids £4 each. Everyone going must have a ticket on the day including all of the kids irrespective of their age.

An special charity night in aid of Firefly Cancer Awareness & Support. 4 brilliant acts from the VERY best of clubland, featuring Loren Kennedy, Ricky Graham, 2 Real and the Manhattans.

This was a ticket only event. Tickets were £5 each and all of the money went to Firefly. It was a sell out with 300 tickets sold!

The first of two sportsman's evenings of the year. This year's sportsman is the hilarious Steve Kindon, ex of Wolves, Huddersfield Town and Burnley. The comedian is John Lory. The event includes a 3 course meal provided by outside caterers, Complete Catering. All for just £25 and all of the surplus is donated to local charities.
